Promoting access to quality healthcare for all communities

Health

Health is a fundamental human right and one of the pillars of sustainable development, economic growth, and social stability.

According to the World Health Organization, universal health coverage means that all people must have access, when they need it, to quality health services without facing financial hardship.

This vision is at the heart of UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: 'Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.'

Despite progress made over recent decades, developing countries, particularly in Africa, continue to face major health challenges. Health systems remain fragile, with unequal access to care, insufficient infrastructure, a shortage of qualified professionals, limited funding, and a high burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
